In 2021, we received a funding request from the Town of Moraga, regarding a fencing project at the skatepark in Moraga Commons. Since the facility opened in 2003, the Town had experienced a steady increase in vandalism, inappropriate conduct, and the failure to obey safety rules and ordinances. Further, there was a need to perform routine maintenance. Without a fence, the Town was unable to secure and close the facility. Since the fence was installed, the ability to shut down the facility seems to be succeeding as an effective deterrent to the previous problems.
